MELODIES IN THE AIR (2012)

Melodies in the Air was a collaborative exhibition of fashion designers who are influenced by contemporary art and artists who explore the transformative language of fashion. It was held at No Vacancy Gallery, Melbourne, September 19 – 30, 2012. Curated by Theodore Wohng and Stacy Jewell.

“Based upon the work of 10 artists and designers, Melodies in the Air showcased a discourse between contemporary art and fashion principals. While each artist’s practice is distinct, amongst the works there is a strong stylistic synergy. Each designer explores the possibilities beyond the limitations of the human body by creating pieces that are not wearable, yet still capture the essence of their design philosophies.
